Inspired By Some Challenges

Last weekend I had posted on my favorite crafty site, StampNation, about how my crafting mojo was no where to be found.  I was challenged by some of the members there, and it was exactly what I needed to get back to creating.

One of the challenges was a tic tac toe challenge, an old one, which I think was from The Paper Players.  At any rate, those challenges are timeless!  I combined a few of them with some current challenges, and here is the result.

First, a card inspired by Muse Challenge #86, and using three items from the tic tac toe board (thank you card, pattern paper, shade of green).  Here is the card . . .

Leftover Basic Grey paper from a Simon Says Stamp kit was in the right place at the right time (and the only shade of green in the area).  The muse card is further below with my supply list (such a beautiful card in shades of blue).

My second card is for this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge (the sketch is below with my supply list).  On the tic tac toe board, the challenge was to use any shade of pink, embossing, and rhinestones or pearls.

I embossed the ring, the rock, and the sentiments on this card.

I'm heading to a weekend crop later in the week, so I'll hopefully have plenty of time to create.  Of course, I'll be limited to the supplies on hand and will be chatting it up with friends.

Hope you have your mojo and hope you find some time to create.

Fall Card for Stampin' Celebration

A little fall card for Stampin' Celebration . . . and I only have about a minute to spare before deadline, so it likely won't make it there.  More important was the challenge to make a fall card to get my crafty mojo back (it was missing for a few weeks).

The leaves and acorn were stamped and embossed . . . double embossed for some added thickness.

It's awesome to be creating and enjoying it again!

Celebrating Halloween w/Sequins

This week's challenge at CAS on Sunday was to create a celebration card using sequins.  I decided to create a card to celebrate Halloween and include some sequins inside a shaker box.

I had sequins that matched my pattern paper, so they were perfect on that white background in the shaker box.

I used this same paper to create some other cards.  Here is one, and I'll post the rest in the coming days.

Loving those sequins!

Kit Kraft Wednesday - More Studio Calico

Two cards for Kit Kraft Wednesday, both using kits from Studio Calico.  First up is "You're a Gem" which is from the latest kit, Poet Society.

For this card, I let the pattern paper do most of the talking.  I used a sketch that was floating around on my craft table.  I love the look of the black embossed sentiment on that newsprint paper.

For my second card I used supplies from my Studio Calico Sandlot kit.  Love the blue and black on this card.

Of course, I did add aa few of my own supplies, which I've included in the supply list below.

I will be posting some Halloween cards in the coming days, so stay tuned.

Retro Sketch Meets Kit Kraft Wednesday

After being away and off of my "creating schedule) for nearly two weeks, I finally broke open my Studio Calico Kit for Kit Kraft Wednesday.  I decided to use this week's Retro Sketch to create and kept is pretty simple (no sense rushing in, right?).

Here is the sketch . . .
 Here is my creation . . .

This was a pretty simple card, the most difficult part being keeping my hands clean from the inking of my patterned papers.  All of the supplies are from Studio Calico's Poet Society Card Kit.

A very simple, masculine card.

In Lieu of Kit Kraft Wednesday

It's been a chaotic couple of weeks which translates to little time to create.  It makes me so sad, because creating is my "me time" and it's absence is most definitely felt!

For the first time since I started my Kit Kraft Wednesday posts, there will be nothing posted tomorrow because of my absence. But I do have a card to share, as I will be away AGAIN over the next several days and won't be able to post anything.

It's not for a challenge; it is not for Kit Kraft Wednesday.  It is just because.

I had some coordinating paper from We R Memories that needed to be used and abused.  This was the result.

Mmmmm!  Cupcake.

Fingerprint Evidence for Kit Kraft Wednesday

I have a card, and then I have evidence of failure . . . all for Kit Kraft Wednesday.

I honestly forgot it was Wednesday with the Labor Day Holiday, so I sat down to create and I was overtired and a little cranky from the long day.  I was playing with some new embossing powders, and I was covering die cut words with Versamark and putting some sparkly accent with the powders and then decided it was time to make a card.  My first result is the evidence of failure.  Splotches of powder . . . and not until I heat embossed the messy piece (which was ruined anyway) did I see my own darn fingerprints everywhere (from my earlier die cut fun).

I guess I touched that paper a few times with my versamarked fingers.  Clearly fingerprint lines on that one with the arrows.  My "duh' moment.

But my second attempt (after washing my hands) turned out better.  Using the sketch from Clean & Simple and my supplies from the August Simon Says Stamp Kit, here is my creation . . .

For this card my pattern paper and the sketch were my inspiration for the card.  Even with the Copic coloring, it was a very simple card to create.

Hope you found some time to create today, and hope you didn't have inky versamarked fingers in your way!
